Lila Kalick holds a BA in Political Science and Creative Writing from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and an MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College in Oakland. She works as a writer, researcher, editor, teacher, translator, and content strategist, developing product content, communications strategies and copy across a variety of platforms for various companies and individuals. She writes in a creative capacity as a novelist, poet, essayist, blogger, screenwriter, broadcast writer, and columnist. Her writing, which focuses on themes of identity, art, literature, media, mindfulness, and culture has appeared in various publications, most recently in BUST and HuffPost, where she worked as an associate editor. You can also hear some of her work on Calm, where she wrote, researched, and brainstormed audio scripts for a daily show about personal development and mindfulness called The Daily Jay.
